So I have this theory. 

Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” is actually a love song to Fëanor. Yes, the elf from The Silmarillion that I keep bringing up. Have I mentioned it’s the 25th anniversary of the Lord of the Rings movies?

This topic is geared a little more towards writers than readers, but who knows – writers usually start out as readers, and some readers may be interested in aspects of the writing process. Regardless, be assured that it will come back around to Lord of the Rings later in this blog post, because of course it will.

I was going to write a different topic for this month, but I found myself veering off into a tangent to the point that I decided it should actually be its own post.

And people who know me will know that I have Opinions on feedback and critique in the writing community.

Was this what you were looking for? It’s the earliest record I could find in the archives, dating all the way back to the Age of Romanus. We don’t actually have anything written by the Veren themselves at all here, not even from more recent centuries – something that I can’t help but think is a terrible oversight, but (with the current situation in the Islands) one that won’t be rectified any time in the immediate future.

Here we find ourselves again, considering both how much and how little was accomplished over the previous quarter.

For today’s blog I thought I’d share some fun behind-the-scenes facts about the writing of the Blades of the Goddess series. These are just some general, overarching facts — eventually, I’d like to do an annotated version of chapters 1-8 of Lost Blades, where I can share fun facts, inspirations, pictures, and whatnot, but that will be a far more granular project. For now this will have to do!

Gaia is a strange and wondrous place, home to hundreds of thousands of different types of fauna and flora. From the emerald forests of Espon, to the amber deserts of Dalmara, to the wine-dark seas and their depths, creatures both mundane and magical share our home with us.
